She was a woman of strength, gifted with the ability to encourage everyone she met (in her own special way). Inspired by her life and legacy, I decided to open a store. This is the story of Mattie, a pioneer woman self-proclaimed physician from Nebraska at the turn of the 20th century.

Thinking she's tougher than she really is, Mattie leaves her family and ventures out west in search of a childhood friend who she believes is her true love.

What she finds instead is hardship, heartache and frustration.4/5. Mattie lives with her mother, Lucille Cook, who runs a Philadelphia also lives with her grandfather, Captain William Farnsworth Cook, a Revolutionary War feels trapped there and longs for freedom.
